Lab Technician Job Description
Formula Corp., located in Auburn, WA is seeking a full-time entry level, Lab Technician.   Formula Corp is a manufacturer of custom blended products used in personal care, sanitary maintenance, and industrial cleaning markets.    
Job Description
This position reports to the Technical Manager and is responsible for managing the stability testing program to ensure that all formulations meet quality standards.  The Stability Technician prepares and tests new formulations per written SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices.   This position also maintains lab cleanliness and has the opportunity to learn how to formulate products including shampoos, conditioners, lotions, laundry detergents and other home cleaners.   Job responsibilities include:

  • Conduct stability testing
  • Prepare lab batches
  • Input and Maintain records of test results
  • Analytical and sensory testing of blended liquids
  • Perform tests including pH, viscosity and specific gravity measurements
  • Use mathematical formulas to calculate lab batch adjustments and test results
  • Accurately and consistently follow instructions
  • Maintain accurate written records and sample libraries
  • Replenish lab supplies when needed
  • Maintain lab cleanliness by washing dishes, floors, and countertops
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills / Qualifications
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Experience with MS Excel
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Learn new tasks with ease
  • Experience in a laboratory setting and/or food production environment is preferred
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma is required, postsecondary coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or related technical field is preferred.
OR
  • Two years of manufacturing quality, laboratory experience, GMP, food production or equivalent.
  • Experience with standard wet lab equipment and methods including pH meters, balances, and powered lab analysis equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other software applications.

 
Full-time entry-level position, $18-24 per hour DOE
